These prices apply for my work in-salon at @Hair.com, on 67 Fourth Avenue in Linden.

For cuts:

And for colour:

********These prices are subject to change without notice********

It's official - a new venue!

Firstly, a huge thanks to everyone for your patience and support while I sorted things out.

Secondly, I officially have a new work space and will be settling in as of tomorrow.

From now on you will find me at 67 4th Avenue in Linden, known to most as Die Blouhond. It's laid back and quirky, just like me :-)

So drop me a sms or call on 071 658 2074 or alternatively BBM me 27A9E938 (which is even more convenient) and arrange to come on by for a cut or colour (or both!) or even just a cup of coffee - the venue has a great tea garden which I'm certain you'll find rather comfy(open Wednesday to Saturday)

I'll be taking appointments for Tuesdays to Saturdays, as normal, but if you ask nicely I may be able to fit in the odd Sunday or Monday appointment from time to time too.

Looking forward to seeing ya!

The start of great new things

You may or may not have already heard the news, but I am no longer working at SHARE on 4th. Instead I'm on a new path to greater and bigger things and will be kicking off in a new location soon (i.e. the 1st of June).

But in the meantime ('cause a hero's always gotta be in action) feel free to book a house call. Buzz or text me on 071 685 2074 or drop me a mail at henrimrhkotze(at)gmail(dot)com (for all emails, please put the mail subject as BOOKING).

And watch this space!

Social Paraplegics

Welcome to the wacky world of Sergeant Fu - the musical side project of the Graeme Watkins Project's guitarist and drummer, Ryno Zeelie and Matthew Marinus. When the time came for SF to shoot their first music video for the single 'Social Paraplegic', guess who was lucky enough to take care of hairstyling on set :-) Ryno's bad ass faux hawk? Yup, that was all me.

My current hair inspiration

Untamed curls and an epic hat!

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?

You never turned around to see the frowns on the jugglers and the clowns
When they all come down and did tricks for you
You never understood that it ain't no good
You shouldn't let other people get your kicks for you
You used to ride on the chrome horse with your diplomat
Who carried on his shoulder a Siamese cat
Ain't it hard when you discover that
He really wasn't where it's at
After he took from you everything he could steal.

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?

Play Strong

It's happening! The launch of Goldwell's 2011 Colour Zoom range. Powerful black, white and red accents are combined with an "unconventional mix of asymetrical and playful shapes", Colour Zoom draws its inspiration from the elegant aesthetics and courageous mood of chess. The new colours are bold and I've got to say that I've had a huge amount of fun working with them so far.

Check out the trailer:

Also, those of you who know me well will already know that I'm a massive chess geek - so I'm especially excited about this! Plus, my boss and I have been chosen as ambassadors - booya!

Ok, so I just realised that most of you reading this probably don't know what all being an ambassador involves. It means that the boss (Kyle Galvao, owner of SHARE, 4th Avenue, Linden) and I get to tour around South Africa, educating other stylists on the new colours and looks at various Goldwell Colour Zoom seminars. Yup, we're rock stars like that.

I'll try to add some pics of our recreations soon!
